Khasto, a traditional shawl, is made from two layers of fine cotton and muslin, together create a soft, lightweight, and insulating covering, keeping you warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

The Dambar Kumari Khasto is a traditional blanket, worn by women to keep warm in the winter months. It is made up of three layers of fine muslin, giving it a remarkable softness and wearing comfort. The middle layer of the khasto is printed and visible through the outer layers. It was developed in the 19th century by Damber Kumari, a Nepalese princess as a way of copying with the cold in Kathmandu. Our take on the Khasto has Tenzin Norbu’s drawings of the happy cloud and wind horse, silk screen painted or embroidered. The border is dyed using natural vegetable dyes.
